Mutual Phenomena for 2009 and 2010
About every six years the Earth’s orbit crosses the orbital planes of
the four Galilean satellites. This results in a significant number of observable occultations and eclipses
involving these satellites. These phenomena are tabulated on pages F38-F39 of The Astronomical Almanac
and are available below. These data were provided by Dr. Kaare Aksnes of the Institute for Theoretical
Astrophysics in Oslo, Norway.
